Purpose: to analyze the sources of pollution in the Arctic region and the key factors influencing the functioning of the waste management system (WMS) in the Arctic Zone of Russian Federation; to develop a set of operational proposals for adjusting actual mechanisms and tools to improve the WMS; and to validate an approach to an establishment of an interdepartmental, interregional, and intersectoral waste management system in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation. Discussion: Considering the existing challenges associated with the uncontrolled growth of production and consumption waste in the Arctic zone of Russian Federation, the author presented an initial model of the IISWMS AZRF, that takes into account the specific features of the key functional processes within the waste management system across the vast Arctic territories. Results: Environmental problems in the Arctic Zone, that had started during the Soviet era, have been gotten worse by the intensive development of mining and transport industries in the Arctic Zone of Russia without relevant consideration of environmental restrictions and requirements. This has led to increasing environmental pressure, especially in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The lack of waste management infrastructure has resulted in uncontrolled waste accumulation and an expansion of polluted areas. To address these intensifying issues, the national project “Ecology” was launched in 2018; however, it failed to achieve the expected outcomes. Starting in 2025, a new project, “Environmental Well-Being,” is planned to focus on the sustainable development of regions and the implementation of circular economy principles. These principles have unique characteristics in the AZRF and require a significant research.

Discussion: renewable energy sources, including solar power plants, are classified as environmentally safe energy sources due to their minimal impact on the environment during operation. However, solar panel construction can cause a significant environmental impact, particularly as industrial scale increases. To assess the environmental effect of solar panel production, it is necessary to assess their resource and environmental intensity. Results: on the case-study of solar panels manufacturing technologies of the first and second generations, the conclusion on their environmental efficiency was made. Solar panels based on cadmium telluride have the highest environmental efficiency in terms of a set of indicators (energy efficiency, resource intensity, etc.). Prospective for the development of technologies based on crystalline silicon as a resource-saving and economically efficient method of producing solar modules is quite large, especially in the context of transition to close resource loops.

Increasing the economic efficiency of poultry production
Keywords: efficiency, production, optimization, poultry farming, cost, products, feed base, agriculture.
Annotation.
Purpose: to develop proposals to improve the economic efficiency of poultry production. Discussion: poultry farming is one of those branches of agriculture, the development of which makes it possible, in conditions of growing incomes of the population, to ensure rapid saturation of the food market with high-value and relatively cheap products of animal origin. At the same time, increasing the economic efficiency of poultry production is reduced to obtaining the maximum amount of products from one head of poultry with minimal labor and material resources for its production. It is determined that the main factors influencing efficiency are too high unit cost and its low selling price. Results: It was found that with the increase in unit feed costs, poultry productivity indicators improve, therefore, the main directions for improving the efficiency of poultry production are productivity growth, optimization of production costs, and strengthening the feed base.

Improving the efficiency of poultry farming enterprises in modern conditions
Keywords: economic efficiency, activity, poultry farming, production, model, enterprises, agro-industrial complex, poultry products.
Annotation.
Purpose: to study the efficiency of poultry farming enterprises, as well as to develop recommendations for its improvement. Discussion: providing the population with high–quality food is a key task of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. At the same time, animal husbandry is currently experiencing difficulties and is showing a decline. At the same time, poultry farming is actively developing and showing positive results. Currently, the need for the consumption of animal proteins is still insufficiently satisfied. Results: an increase in the volume of poultry production requires the appropriate development of enterprises and organizations for processing, transportation and sale of the final product. To assess the effectiveness of enterprises in the field of production and processing of poultry products, it is proposed to use a socio-economic model that includes interrelated factors that affect the level of efficiency, as well as economic and social indicators that help determine it. Important aspects of the model are performance criteria covering economic, social and physiological elements, and the main object of modeling in this case is an integral indicator of the efficiency of poultry enterprises.

The multi-option implementation of the Chinese «Belt and road initiative» and the integration of the Russian Federation into it
Keywords: international project, Chinese initiative, Eurasian continent, Asia-Pacific region, infrastructure projects, logistics projects, international cooperation, railway corridor.
Annotation.
Purpose: to form prospects and reveal problems of cooperation between Russia and China in the course of implementation of the Chinese initiative “One Belt – One Road”. Discussion: the article considers projects implemented by China within the framework of the initiative “One Belt – One Road”, which are perceived positively by some countries, however, there are also a number of countries that treat BRI with caution, considering the initiative projects as Chinese economic expansion, and not as mutually beneficial international cooperation. This scientific article discusses the problems of Russia’s integration into the “One Belt – One Road” using the example of other countries. Results: options for the development of Russian-Chinese relations in the sphere of implementation of joint international projects and development of logistics hubs are proposed. In general, integration into the Chinese initiative BRI is an attractive direction for the development of international cooperation and implementation of international projects. It assumes further development of multimodal and mixed cargo transportation not only within the framework of neighboring countries of the Caspian region (Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, India), but also guaranteed promotion and development of trade in the markets of the countries of South and West Africa. Thus, the priority routes for Russian-made goods in the future will be the arteries of the international transport corridor “North-South”, then Iran – Saudi Arabia, and then the port in Djibouti, from which there is already a railway to Ethiopia, which could be connected in the future with South Africa.
